Adam Lost 40kg After An Unwanted Trip To The Emergency Room

Hi all, I’m Adam and this is my weight loss journey with The Man Shake.
I knew I was putting on weight over the last couple of years, but I chose to ignore it. However, it wasn’t until around July 2024 when I had reality hit me square in the chest.
I caught a side glance of myself in a mirror and thought “damn… Man, you look unhealthy and, honestly, FAT!”
I jumped online and started looking for gym memberships and healthy eating options.
The one thing that kept popping up and getting mentioned was The Man Shake.
It honestly came at the perfect time. I was desperate and willing to try anything, so this was the perfect start for me. Shortly after I was on the website putting in my first order.
The Shakes arrived, and I decided to go all out and drop all the beers and support the shakes with thought-out healthy dinners… two days later I had to take myself to the Emergency Room.
I was in pretty bad shape.
Don’t worry. It had nothing to do with The Man Shake. Instead, my appendix decided to burst.
You would think this would stop me before I even started, but it fuelled me!
I became more determined to start looking out for my health, once I spent a couple of weeks recovering of course.
I started this journey at 125kg intending to hit 95kg.
So, I began having two Shakes a day and walking. That was it.
Three months later I was able to drop 30kg and hit my goal.
I’m now sitting at 85kg and I’m not going back.
I have ramped up my walking to running and I have joined a gym to work on building my muscle and maintain my new healthier self.
I have gone back on my original plan though. The beers are back but less frequently, and I have swapped in an Ultra Low Carb option instead.
The Man Shakers Facebook Community Group has also been a great source of inspiration and I hope I can pay it back to others with advice and support if they need it.
My routine with The Man Shake, when I started, was my first Shake at 7:30 AM, usually Coffee, and then my second at noon, normally Caramel or Choc Honeycomb Crunch.
I also love to put a bit of instant coffee in my Shakes.
Overnight oats were another way I used Man Shake. Oats yogurt almond milk and a scoop of Shake. Delicious!
Now that I am sitting steady, I have changed to one Shake a day at 10 AM then an apple and protein bar at 2 PM. Dinner is always decent, and I try to not have it later than 7 PM.
Walking continues to be a very important part of my life as I aim to hit at least 15000 steps a day.
After 4 months on The Man Shake, I feel great!
People often ask me if I will stop using the Shakes and I tell them NO.
The Man Shake is a part of my life now. They are convenient, taste great, and support me with all the nutrients I need to fuel my day.
Now that I am ramping up at the gym, I’ll likely be moving back to two Shakes again!
If I were to pass on any words of inspiration what would it be?
That’s easy – You have nothing to lose apart from the weight!
Also, get walking. Walk, walk, walk.
Any walking on top of what you currently do is going to give you a good start to your weight loss journey.
You don't need to absolutely wreck yourself and sweat the weight away. Walking will do it.
